😋11/23/25 A STORY + MEAL PLAN: My First Thanksgiving in 🇺🇸America, and What It Taught Me About Food...
|
Ciao Reader! I’ll never forget my very first Thanksgiving in America. 🇺🇸 We had only been here a few weeks. My parents were invited by their new colleagues to a Thanksgiving dinner, a tradition we didn’t yet understand, surrounded by unfamiliar foods and faces. I didn’t speak a word of English. I was far from home, sitting at a table filled with strangers. But somehow… I felt a sense of warmth and love. Why? Because food is a universal language, one that needs no translation. That evening, we passed dishes we’d never tasted before: golden turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, apple pie, and pumpkin pie. We didn’t share many words, but we shared something more powerful: togetherness. That feeling from my very first Thanksgiving has stayed with me all these years. ♥️It’s why I love this holiday so much. It reminds me that food connects us across languages, traditions, and backgrounds, and that a full table of food means more than just a meal. In this week’s CucinaByElena meal plan, you’ll find simple dishes to carry you through the days leading up to the biggest feast and gathering of the year. These are meals meant to warm your home, feed your family, and remind you what matters most. And before the week begins, I want to say thank you... For every recipe you make, every story you read, and every bit of love you share back, you inspire me to keep cooking, creating, and connecting through food. All recipes are made with amore, 💙 Elena.
